The talk will begin by establishing the models by which humans make sense of words and images. The focus will be on digital displays and electronic modes of communication and will draw on examples from educational websites and applications. Ed will cover the core principles of layout, typography, naming, feedback and form design to give attendees the fundamentals of how to make the written word more effective.
